Despite the lack of posts here, we did have a pretty active 2025 with a few items of interest. I’m not planning on going back and adding entries for 2025 since it would be just references to the mailing list that is still getting updated.

As mentioned, the mailing list archive is now working again. It was converted to mlmmj from mailman2 back when I migrated to a static site, and it is not as tightly integrated as it was with the older mailman software.

It uses an external program to create the archives and something stopped working. Since I have no idea who actually reads any of the list archives if anyone, I did not notice and nobody called it to my attention. The list usage and subscriptions are pretty light, so not that surprising. That may change as well if the new ip address starts getting a better reputation for sending emails that do not get marked as spam.

Migrating to a new server brought back the amount of work required in setting up a new domain (there is a new one that kicked this project off) and all the challenges of running your own mail service. I can see why a lot of people decide that outsourcing the problem is the answer.

Anyway, I have a lot of ideas for future meetings and expect that others will step up as well. We have new faces and that alone will inject some vitality back into the group.
