We will be hosting an exam on Nov 20 at the Altera offices in Kanata.
I know it’s a bit out of the way, but we do have use of the training center there, and it holds about 40 people. Space is limited to that many people.
Some details about the location …
- We are setting up for two seatings, 11:00 and 13:00
- For those who use public transit, and are are not familiar with
Kanata, the bus route 160 passes along March Road (near
the building) on Saturdays
octranspo schedule.
It can be transferred to from the Terry Fox Park & Ride in Kanata Centrum. You will want to get off at the former Ceyba building (if anyone remembers what it is called now, this would be a good spot to post).
This is across from MDS Nordion on March Rd. If you look across their parking lot, you will see the PMC Sierra Building. This is where Altera is located. If you miss the stop, you should be able to stop near Lockheed, and walk back. Don’t blame me, I didn’t design the bus routes.
I was considering holding a training day to review the info from the IBM website that has review material on the prior Saturday, but I don’t know if there is any interest. I just learned that I will be working that day, so this is no longer an option. It will be considered for future exams.
Registration will be done either online or via email. If you wish to register via web form, the form is not yet ready (too much work, not enough me time), If it isn’t ready by Wednesday, Nov 10, then the only option will be email.
To register via email, send an email to lpi_exams@ovsage.org with the following information:
- Name (First Last)
- Valid Email Address
- LPI Identification Number (you need this to take the exam)
- Which exams will you be taking? (101R 101D 102 201 or 202)
Exam 101 can be done with a RedHat Package Manager (101R) or Debian Package Manager (101D) specialty - Which Seating (11:00 or 13:00, or both)
The cost will be $60.00 per exam, payment will be by cash or cheque on the day of the exam, and receipts will be available. Please make cheques to Brenda Butler.
We will not be holding any more of these until after the open source weekend in 2005 (March I think), so if you want an LPI certification sooner than that, sign up now.
