It has been quite a while since there has been a post here. The last one being in 2019, a few months before the pandemic shut it all down for a while (assuming 3+ years is a “while”).
We have been having virtual events for most of that time, but not publishing any information. I guess I was not in the mood to keep it updated, but I had to do some migration work this week, so it seems like a good time to get back to it.
Updates:
- I reduced my VPS count by one, so I had to migrate all things to a new instance as there was a month gap in paying for it and why have three VPS services when I really only need 1?
- I had to rebuild my toolbase, as there have been a lot of changes in my systems in the last 3 years. There is a talk in that story, so that will be coming.
- Software needed to be updated - OS, web server, mail system, etc. Typical system work when upgrading things.
- Meetings will remain virtual for a while yet. I have not heard anyone clamoring for in person, so we will continue as we are.
- We will get back into technical talks, as the world may have been on pause, but technology has marched on and lots of things have happened.
- As you may have noticed, we stopped being a LOPSA member and I am not sure what is going on there. The new logo is a nod to Unix wizards (and sages).
- The LISA conference ended back in 2021. It has been replaced with the SRECons, which makes sense, but I will miss it.
- There will likely be a few errors on the site, as I am sure some things are not exactly as they should be and there are new settings I have made which may affect the layout. Be patient, I have not looked at this in several years.
There will be more posts coming, but at least there is some activity again.
