Slight change of venue this time. We will be meeting at the Tim Horton’s
Carling at March. See the event calendar for full address. The last time
we were there, there was an accessible hotspot, so you should be able to
get a connection If you bring a laptop.I still want to get my open filer
finished, but it doesn’t look like it for this week. Other topics are
welcome: solaris 10, bsd, knoppix, anything goes. Policies, standards,
ITIL, whatever.
For anyone who is a member of SAGE, the elections for a new board of
directors is this weekend. If you are a member, please cast your vote.
It is important for the continuation of the organization.
I’ve duplicated part of the announcement below and you can read the
candidate statements on the main SAGE page.
The SAGE Leadership Committee has completed fielding a list of
candidates for the new SAGE Board, formally known as the Board of The
System Administrators Guild, Incorporated. The election is scheduled to
take place electronically, beginning on June 17th, 2005, closing 17:00
PDT June 24th 2005.
It’s June, we are almost halfway into the new year, and things haven’t
changed too much. We still don’t have many new topics, many new people,
and Ottawa is still in a very slow recovery mode. This month, I hope to
at least talk about the
open filer, that I
mentioned last month.
Same bat time, same bat channel. Look at the

I finally got around to upgrading to the latest version of the software.
There may be a few items broken/missing, as some of the modules I was
using supposedly are not compatible. Any discrepancies should get ironed
out over the next couple of days.
May meeting is fast approaching. Hopefully we will have a little
discussion regarding the upcomming LPI exams, and a little discussion
regarding a couple of storage technoogies, ATAoE and OpenFiler.
